Πραγματοποιήθηκε λίγο πριν το μεσημέρι χθες, στην Αρχαία Ολυμπία η τελετή αφής της Ολυμπιακής Φλόγας, η οποία ήδη ξεκίνησε το μακρινό ταξίδι της για τη Σιγκαπούρη, όπου θα διεξαχθεί από τις 14 έως τις 26 Αυγούστου η πρώτη διοργάνωση Ολυμπιακών Αγώνων Νέων.
Η αφή της Ολυμπιακής Φλόγας Νέων πραγματοποιήθηκε στον Ναό της Ήρας χρησιμοποιώντας ένα παραβολικό κάτοπτρο και μεταφέρθηκε από την Πρωθιέρεια στο Αρχαίο Στάδιο, για τους Ολυμπιακούς Αγώνες Νέων Σιγκαπούρη 2010.

Στο Αρχαίο Στάδιο, η Φλόγα, πέρασε σε τέσσερις νεαρούς λαμπαδηδρόμους, τον Απόστολο Κουταβά, την Amanda Xiang Qi LIM και τον Abdul Razak Bin Noor Shah SILAS από τη Σιγκαπούρη και τέλος τον Νίκο Τσιώκο. Η Φλόγα παραδόθηκε στον κύριο Σπύρο Καπράλο, Πρόεδρο της Ελληνικής Ολυμπιακής Επιτροπής, ο οποίος την παρέδωσε με τη σειρά του στον κύριο Ser Miang NG, Πρόεδρο της Οργανωτικής Επιτροπής Ολυμπιακών Αγώνων Νέων της Σιγκαπούρης.
