Ακυρώνει εκδηλώσεις για το βιβλίο του ο Μπλερ

REUTERS/David Moir (IRELAND - Tags: CIVIL UNREST POLITICS SOCIETY)Ο πρώην πρωθυπουργός της Βρετανίας Τόνι Μπλερ ακύρωσε σήμερα την εκδήλωση υπογραφής των απομνημονευμάτων του που επρόκειτο να πραγματοποιηθεί την Τετάρτη στο Λονδίνο, εξαιτίας φόβων ότι θα υπάρξουν ξανά έντονες διαμαρτυρίες:«Λυπάμαι για όλους, που είναι η πλειοψηφία, οι οποίοι θα ήθελαν να έχουν ένα αντίγραφο του βιβλίου, υπογεγραμμένο από εμένα προσωπικά. Ελπίζω να καταλάβουν», πρόσθεσε ο πρώην πρωθυπουργός.

Η ειρηνιστική οργάνωση «Stop the War» (Σταματήστε τον πόλεμο) είχε προγραμματίσει διαδήλωση έξω από βιβλιοπωλείο στο Πικαντίλι, στην καρδιά της πρωτεύουσας, όπου ο συγγραφέας θα υπέγραφε αντίτυπα του βιβλίου του. Το Σάββατο διαδηλωτές πέταξαν αυγά και παπούτσια κατά του 57χρονου Μπλερ την ώρα που έφτασε για να υπογράψει αντίτυπα του βιβλίου του «Ένα Ταξίδι» σε βιβλιοπωλείο του Δουβλίνου.
